Episode 4 - Saturday October 6 - At the moment I am... at the merch stand in Salzburg

[The day-off in Prague has benn useful and relaxing. Me and Paco worked at PC, and then all together have made some arranging tests for a song that we would insert in our setlist: “Forgotten Soul”. We will see how it will welcomed by the audience!]

Uber e poi cena in un locale fighissimo in centro: il Sad Man’s Tongue, burgers e rockabilly all night long! [Uber, and then dinner in a very gorgeous pub in the downtown: Sad Man’s Tongue, burgers and rockabilly all night long!]

[The day after we go away early from Prague, destination Brno. The venue is some kind of futuristic! Both inside and outside! And the acoustics is perfect! Together with venue, the building has a mega-luxury hotel. For Italy, everything is sci-fi! In my jogging, I discover a town full of holidays, live concerts, churches and an unexpected modernity.]

Grazie di cuore :) [Unfortunately, contrary to what we expected, the sound engineer are good, but with no desire to work, and they we let a few to ourselves, however with perfect sounds outside. The guys of production, instead, are fantastic. Thank you so much!]

[After the soundcheck, our guitarist Giacomo goes away with a taxi to find a support for his Go-Pro, and we give appointment after one hour. Strangely, he doesn’t arrive… All the taxis are busy ‘cause of live show, and in the end he decides to back on foot. He goes up at the backstage very tired, but luckily, a the established time, we go to the stage!]

Il Sono Club è spettacolare. Pieno zeppo di gente strepitante, tutti partecipano all show! Davvero incredibile! [The Sono Club is spectacular! It’s so heavy full of clamour pepole, everybody join all the show! It’s really incredible!]

[In the nighttime we are on trip. Kosice is really far, and I’m losing a few in this fascinable East Europe. I should be discover for one month, at least, in this big square between Prague, Brno, Budapest and Wien; every middle-size city I visited is a jewel, and who knows what wonders in the little and hidden towns…]

[When we arrived to K13, it’s a beautiful sunny afternoon. The guys that organize are the same of previous night. They told me that, usually, organize heavy extreme metal nights, however are making a very good job.]

[The venue is big and modern, realized with some fund raisings by the European Union, like many other structures that are been renovated in the city.]

[The backstage is so awesome and big, and has some beds to allow the artists to rest. An Italian friend that are living here tells us that, here in Slovakia, exists a guest-house for the artists, that comprehends pass-lunch and rooms , if necessary.]

[After a very good soundcheck – luckily we are finding some preparated and pretty technicians – we stay a little time in relax, enjoying some peace.]

[From the previous night, we inserted in the setlist a song that we didin’t play for a long time, “Forgotten Soul”]

[

[Also tonight we play this song, and the people appreciated very much. The athmosphere are very funny, the audience is a little low, but very present.]

[The night ends relatively soon for our Mediterrenean standards, and from the venue they communicate us that can host without problems, also for sleeping! Hurrà! ‘Cause of tiredness, my guys sleep very fastly, with their smartphone in hands, sending messages for thier ladys :) They’re so sweet!]

[I profit for a shower, and then I make some hour of heavy rest!]

[The day after we start at 7:00 o’clock. The air of the morning is really fresh, and it wakes us up very well when we make the nose outside the venue. We’re going in Budapest.]

[To enter in this city is always so much suggestive, you start to see buildings having origins in the end of the XIX° century, and you feel the historic importance of this town ]

[Soon, we meet the Danubio river and the palaces that stay on the riverside; it’s not probable to not think to prince and princess stories. The royal palace is so majestic.]

Dopo tanto girare, finalmente ci troviamo davanti all’A38. [After a long tour, finally we find in front of A38. And yes! I can really tell you that tihs venue is ON THE BOAT!!!!!!! Oh my God! It’s docked on the riverside, it’s very particular.]

[The venue is so chic. Downstairs – below the water level, like my guys note me in order to feed my claustrophobia – there’s the live room; at the upstairs, instead, there’s a mega-luxury restaurant and a fantastic terrace with many white beach-umbrellas.]

[The changing rooms are on the other part of the boat, and downstairs there’s a bar-room inside the engine room, managed by a very strong lady that speaks Italian.]

[Load in and load out are hard, but the venue’s staff helps us, like always.]

[By the way, they will not enough THANKS for the guys that help us with load in and load out. They really make the difference in this particular context.]

[To calm the stress – my stress!!! ‘cause we are on the boat, within the water! – we make an happy hour on the terrace. Really, the concept of happy hour, outside Italy, is never catched, and becomes only TO DRINK ALCOHOL AT EMPTY STOMACH,  but however it’s same alright.]

[After a little time, the show starts! We almost do not realize that it’s our turn! Tonight, for this occasion, we back to insert in the setlist “Electronoose”, an electro-rock song that are inside our last album.]

[There’s not barriers between stage and audience, and that’s like me so much! Only pity for a loud group of girls in the front row (obviously, they’re there for Lauri of The Rasmus), otherwise I would have gladly made stage diving!]

[The audience is really hot! They follow us in every moment, and in every movement! They sing with me, dancing and jumping!]

[You must know that this kind of audience are very different from  our Italian rock audience. It doesn’t exist headbanging, it doesn’t exist to jump and to wiggle. Shortly, a different world, much more clean and composed, but that see you with sweetheart eyes. After the first shows when we have confided at our energic side, now, with a very melodic setlist, I tried to restrain a few, because I noted some sensations on the people faces; but then, sincerely, I was suffering to limit me, so let’s make the sensation in the crowd!]

[We enjoy the live entirely, and when I go down from the stage, I stay in ecstasy for a half-hour, to receive good vibes and feelings!]

[Strangely, I had and received everything, and instead to dive in the afterparty inside the backstage, we make dinner at mega-luxury restaurant and then, after meeting some people at merch table, I make a shower, finishing the night.]

[For this night, our special guest has been Lujza, a very smart girl from Budapest, that we met last year. I’ve been so happy to take some time with her, and to show her a part of this world that, usually, is hidden to many people – the backstage!]

[In the night, we travel to Linz, five hours in the queue but… When we arrived, we are solemnly received by the Posthof guys: a backstage with so much comfortable beds for each band, private bathroom, a common room with table football, and infinite food.]

[The building is so beautiful, it seems builded very recently, and it has two live stages, with a top level equipment.]

[The sound engineers explain us that the venue is a property of the Municipality of Linz, and that reminds me the “Progetto Giovani”, a project of my town when I started to play at 14… all the material was crushed and not took care. Only to hear usi t was impossible. The soundcheck is good, and in the late afternoon I make a jogging until the riverside. It’s all very tidy, there’s also a Luna Park. Austria is really a wonderful country.]

Chiudiamo con “The Fragile Sound” cantata a cuor leggero. [I back to the venue, and there are so many fans waiting for The Rasmus. After a little time, we upstairs to the stage and the athmosphere is just hot. The venue is wonderful, and the audience is a good people. We close the set with “The Fragile Sound”, that we sing with light heart.]

[After many selfies and meet&greet, I go fastly in my private shower. There are some holidays around the city, and the sound engineers offer me to discover the city.]

[We take a taxi that brings us to a pub, with a trash-dj that play 90’s music, and this is the occasion to compares us about the cultural differences between Italy and Austria. The people here in Austria are very smart. One of them studies history, and during our tour towards the downtown, he asks me many things of this place where Adolf Hitler grew.]

[At 5:30 we find another party, but everything seems finished. So, we go back to sleep. Thank you son much Patrick and Philip for this lovely night. For me, it’s been so good. I back to the venue to sleep some hour, ‘cause at 9:00 o’clock I must wake up.]

[We start soon, but at the end, between a breakfast and a walking tour in Bauhaus, we arrive at Rockhouse, in Salzburg, at 13:00.]

[The venue is a former industrial building, very punk. The sounds are not so easy to make, but after the soundcheck I make a long tour to the city: I did not expect ad old town so beautiful. I go in front of  born house of Mozart, and I admire the big churches that I find along the way.]

[The show is so hot, and the crowd participated. The stage seemed very little, instead there’s much space and we are free to make big energy.]

[During this show Sara, Paco’s girlfriend, reached us with surprise, and it’s been very nice to have her with us for the next travel in Italy!]

[We say thanks also to miss IRENE, that cooked us an awesome dinner!!!]

  • [Raffaele Pisani asks: "If we would try to make a report of the first half of the tour, which stage has satisfied you more? And which your song received the most participation by the audience?]
Pubblico caldissimo, ambiente consono ad una band on the road come noi. Tutto giusto.
  • [Faith answers: Surely, for me the most beautiful stage has been Budapest. Very hot audience, perfect environment for an 'on the road' band like us. Everything's alright. The people asks me various songs, but surely "Awaiting" and "Ocean" are the most appreciated."]
